E-Mountainbike Full Suspension
What defines a FOCUS E-MTB?
Full support on a wide range of trails. In this segment, you will find e-mountainbikes for every purpose. Whether enduro, all-mountain, trails and tours off the beaten track – find out which of our full-power e-MTBs is right for you right here.
The features of all E-MTBs

We designed the frames of our new e-MTBs with the goal of a light look and the most agile trail handling. Therefore we opted for the compact 600 Wh battery and a slim silhouette as the main design. The battery can be removed through the down tube using pivot removal instead of slide-out. If you need more battery capacity, you can also choose the larger 800 Wh battery. This gives you the flexibility to swap batteries between all current FOCUS E-MTB models – all you need is a different down tube cover. Moreover, all frames in all sizes are compatible with the 250 Wh range extender, leading to four possible battery configurations from 600 to whooping 1050 Wh.

Oh, these aren't carbon bikes? If that surprises you, you're certainly not alone. Especially if you only looked at the ground and levelled welds in the head tube area or the semi-integrated shock mount. All three FOCUS E-MTBs could easily be mistaken for carbon bikes. The elegant, two-tone metallic paintwork with a painted main link and the C.I.S. 2.0 stem complete the premium look.

The overarching goal for all FOCUS E-MTBs was to create clearly distinct bikes, each tailored to a specific purpose. The results are bikes that might look more alike but are truly different and cater to three distinct use cases. As an example: we say goodbye to the suspension travel categories. Why should an e-mountain bike like the THRON² be limited by its travel, when you can use variables like kinematics, geometry, and specs to turn it into the perfect bike for epic alpine tours? That’s why it now has 150/140 mm of travel, only 10 mm less than our trail all-rounder JAM² and 20 mm less than our trail shredder FOCUS SAM².

The different e-MTB use cases

Made for after-work rides on your home trail or long weekend tours. The THRON² is focused on the pure experience of the ride. Experiencing nature is key – be it uphill, over gravel climbs or downhill on fun flow trails. With a touring e-MTB, you are perfectly equipped for any adventure.

If you want to challenge yourself with a versatile e-mountain bike, you are going to find the fitting full-suspension e-bike in the category of all-mountain bikes. You will have lots of fun touring in flat terrain but you also can handle trail challenges in the Alps.

If you want to master big road gaps and gnarly rock gardens at high speeds or steep, wet root sections on an enduro race track, you need a FOCUS SAM². It's the perfect bike for gravity fans who want to conquer the toughest trails in the world. The SAM² begs for you to release the brakes and knows no limits except your own. The kinematics are fully tuned to coil shocks and firmly tuned. However, challenging uphills are also part of E-Enduro, for which a powerful e-drive provides plenty of power.

But it’s not only about power. If riders want to go for technical trails they need a motor that delivers power sensibly and that can adapt easily to the power they need. That’s what is needed for steep climbs and ramps. For everyone who is going for fast rides, it’s important that the engine is not giving you motor resistance – when it’s turned off or the support stops above 25 km/h.

We rely on gen. 5 of the Bosch Performance Line CX e-drive. Previous JAM² models, which you can find in the outlet, are equipped with Bosch Performance Line CX gen. 4 or Shimano EP801.

With some fast checks, you can find out which battery will be the right one for you. First, you should know: more watt-hours means more range. But the weight (rider+baggage+bike) has a big impact on the real range of your battery. As well as your chosen support level or the shape of the terrain and many more factors. If you push the energy consumption of your engine by riding a lot of uphills, the battery will empty quicker, if your cycling in flat terrain in eco mode, it will last longer.
